Ginni Thomas, wife of Supreme Court Justice, Clarence Thomas has become a vocal critic of the Obama administration and the left-leaning progressive Democrat congress and it’s designs on taking over and restructuring the United States as a socialist country.
To inspire action and keep us informed and in communication with others of like-mind, Ginni has created a wonderful and informative website www.libertycentral.org. I recommend that everyone interested in defending our principles and liberties should join in the conversation, receive email updates, get inspired, and take action.
In an editorial published on May 26,2010 in the Sonoran News (The Conservative Voice of Arizona), written by John Hoeppner he reminds readers about McCain’s past statements and political positions.
McCain’s election year amnesia
“Senator Obama is a decent person and a person that you do not have to be scared of as president of the United States.” – John McCain – Oct. 10, 2008, Town Hall in Lakeville, Minn.
U.S. Senator John McCain must be confident Arizona voters have amnesia regarding his approval of Barack Obama’s presidential timber. Never mind that Barry Soetoro, aka, Barack Obama had a prolonged record of close associations involving socialists, communists, militants, racist clerics, labor unions, ACORN and the corrupt Chicago political machine reminiscent of Boss Tweed’s Tammany Hall. Forget how Senator McCain continues to confer the President a pass as he is “fundamentally changing America.” Read more »
Not being a financial guru, but smart enough to know how to balance my checkbook. I also know that when you spend more money than you take in, you’re surely headed toward bankruptcy and financial disaster … that’s my prediction for what our Democratic congress along with Obama’s imperialist economic philosophy will lead us to …
Let’s just examine the facts and the tax bills that every American will be forced to pay, and the freedoms that are in danger of being taken away:
THE NATIONAL DEBT – As of May 26, 2010 America’s debt clock has now officially passed $13 trillion. Let’s compare the often maligned Bush deficit that Obama inherited when he took office in 2008 to the current Obama spending and deficit. To be clear the Bush deficit is nothing to be proud of … but let’s be realistic.
At the end of the Bush Presidency in 2008 the U.S. deficit was a bit over $400,000,000,000 ($400 billion) and government spending was over $2,600,000,000,000 ($2.6 trillion).
At the end of Obama’s first year in 2009the deficit had passed $2,400,000,000,000 ($2.4 trillion) and government SPENDING had increased to $4,600,000,000.000 ($4.6 trillion).
Obama still blaming Bush for the deficit problems he inherited is a lesson in arrogance. Obama’s first deficit will be larger than all Bush deficits combined.
Permanently expands the federal government by nearly 3% of GDP over 2007 pre-recession levels.
Borrow 42 cents for each dollar spent in 2010.
The $2.5 trillion Social Security plus other obligations and our current national debt of $12.5 trillion means a debt of nearly $42,000 for every man, woman, and child in the country.
Add an additional $74,000 per household of debt onto our children and grandchildren.
Unless debt cuts are made to this unsustainable borrowing, Moody’s rating agency announced that the U.S. is at risk of looking its AAA credit rating. Read more »
Obama has nominated Elena Kagan to the U.S. Supreme Court. Her positions on government control, free speech, and her lament at the decline of socialism should be closed examined during her congressional hearings.
My concern is that Kagan is another radical lefty. She argued that the court should intervene in matters of certain forms of speech that promote “racial or gender inequality” could be “disappeared.” What does that mean? Could you be arrested if your speech was offensive to someone in society or to the government?
In a 1996 paper, “Private Speech, Public Purpose: The Role of Governmental Motive in First Amendment Doctrine,”Kagan argued it may be proper to suppress speech because it is offensive to society or to the government.”
In Kagan’s undergraduate theses, titled “To the Final Conflict: Socialism in New York City, 1900-1933,” written at Princeton, she lamented the decline of socialism in the country as “sad” for those who still hope to “change America.” Was she referring to Obama? She asked why the “greatness” of socialism was not reemerging as a major political force. Read the full article at WND.Read more »
Donald Berwick, is Obama’s new Medicare appointee. His perspectives on health care is redistributive, in other words, taking from the wealthy to give to the poor. If one believes that equality in all areas of American life is what the Founding Fathers believed in, has not read any of our founding documents: Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution, The Bill of Rights, and The Federalist Papers.
Amongst some of the statements Berwick made at the conference, were:
“…any health care funding plan that is just, equitable, civilized and humane must, MUST redistribute wealth from the richer among us to the poorer and the less fortunate. Excellent health care is, by definition, redistributional.
“Do not put your faith in market forces”
“Avoid supply driven care like the plague”
Berwick fully supports Britain’s NICE (National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence), which was instituted in 2005. NICE’s technology appraisal board provides the funding and treatments for those conditions they recommend, their decisions are based on clinical and cost effectiveness. NICE is the assessment agency recommending the appropriate treatment for different diseases, taking into account both desired medical outcomes and economic arguments. Their budget is limited so the cost effectiveness factor for treatment for various diseases, conditions, and quality of life issues using the quality-adjusted life year (QALY) measurement, becomes involved in the decision making process. In the United States some individuals have referred to these types of assessment panels as “death panels.”
His opinion of the people in this county is encapsulated in this statement: “Democrats in America were put on earth to do one thing: drag the ignorant hillbilly half of this country into the next century, which in their case is the 19th.”
Although I strongly disagree with Bill Maher on his politics, he certainly has the right of freedom of speech to spout his ignoble positions using his gross abuse of the English language. Read more »
OBAMACARE – Many States are abandoning the new Federal unfunded mandates for High-Risk Pools, even though Health & Human Services Secretary (HHS), Kathleen Sebelius is bragging how the states are happy with the program. As of today, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, Nevada and Wyoming have opted out of the program.
Friday, April 30th is the last day States have to tell Washington if they’re planning to participate.
What does the high-risk program do:
Provides insurance for individuals with pre-existing conditions
Allocates $5 billion for insuring them until 2014.
In 2014 enrollees would be transferred to the new health-insurance exchanges.
Chief Actuary, Richard Foster, reported:
The high-risk program will run out of money in 2012.
States that sign up will be responsible for financing the program about two years after it runs out of money.
Watch the 33 minute Film Trailer. It would take about 33 minutes for a missile launched from a terriorist country to destroy a city in the United States.
One of the most urgent and important roles of the U.S. government as stated in its explanatory paragraph in our Constitution is to “provide for the common defense … for the United States of America.”
The Obama Administration has reduced our capabilities to protect our country from attack!
A Fox News story in September 2009 relayed the medical and financial situation of Doug and Ann Stoda. After spending 12 years ignoring the pain in his hip, it became imperative that Doug receive surgery to repair his damaged hip. 12 years earlier Doug had wrenched his hip while climbing off the skidder he used for logging.
The Stoda’s couldn’t afford the $55,000 it would cost them, and after a chiropractor informed them about medical tourism, and they did the necessary research and investigation – they decided to travel to India for Doug’s hip surgery and recuperation; the eventual cost for the trip (at that time) including surgery, air travel, and lodging was $11,500. While Doug recuperated Ann was on vacation.
“Don’t be afraid,” Ann says of the potentially beneficial experience of traveling for medical care. “But make sure you do your homework.” Read the whole story.
